The moment we’ve been dreading has now happened. The developer that owns the property 5323 Ironwood, also known as Silver Spur Canyon, filed a builder's remedy application with the City Rancho of Palos Verdes yesterday.

As of Thursday, the developer has not yet submitted any plans for the canyon nor has he filed a builder's remedy application…

I stopped in at the planning department for the city of Rancho Palos Verdes the week before last to see what kind of information I could get.

There has been activity on the vacant lot in the last few weeks: several small structures were removed from the lot.

There are indeed several easements on the 5323 Ironwood property that could prevent building on some areas of the lot, but only if those easements are enforced.

Concerned about the possibility of a large development going in an area that is currently entirely single-family residences, I contacted the city about plans for the lot, and was informed that no plans had yet been submitted.
