New Organization Unites Peninsula Against Bad Development
Computer Skills Needed
Save the Date: October 8th!
The Silver Spur project goes in front of the RPV planning commission on October 8th at 7pm in the Community Center at Hess Park. We need a show of strength with as many individuals at the meeting as possible! Mark this date on your calendar. More details in an upcoming update.
We need to ensure a strong City Council to fight this project
Since the fight against the massive Jha development in Silver Spur Canyon is likely to take many months if not years, and at least the initial part of this fight will be led by the city, it’s important to make sure that we have a supportive City Council. I’d like to bring your attention to an event where City Council candidates will be present for you to talk to. Ask for their positions on not only the Silver Spur development, but the State’s attempt to force density into communities like Rancho Palos Verdes!
RPV City Council Candidate Forum - Wednesday 9/18, Time/Place TBA. Sponsored by the Council of Home Owner Associations/PVP Chamber of Commerce
New Organization to Fight Inappropriate Development
The Silver Spur Canyon development is a symptom of a bigger problem. That problem is the approach to building affordable housing that our State government is taking. It’s our opinion that the State's concern for creating more affordable housing is reasonable and should be addressed, but the way that it’s being addressed has too many unintended consequences and will eventually destroy the fabric of our neighborhoods.
Find out more about what the future of California looks like if we don’t change the direction that our State is taking, and what we can do about it.
"One Hill" Meeting - Wednesday 9/25 at 7 pm - Peninsula Center Library Community Room. Reservations required: https://onehill.eventbrite.com
You Can Help Us with Computer Skills
Do you or someone you know have experience in making 3-D building models and placing them in Google Earth or a similar platform?
We’d like to create 3-D representations of the buildings in the canyon so they can be viewed from all different viewpoints, and so people living around the canyon can get an idea of what the buildings are going to look like from all different perspectives, including from their property. Please let us know! voicesofsilverspur@gmail.com
