For all those interested, there will be a meeting this Saturday 11/11 at 3:30 PM at the home of Aurora Rysanek at 26417 Silver Spur . It’ll be a chance to discuss this issue and strategize. Activity on the property
One neighbor who’s backyard borders on the vacant lot reported to me that earlier this week owners of the vacant lot started to remove fences from several homeowners’ backyards without the permission of the homeowners. When confronted, the vacant lot owner stated that their land survey showed that the fences were actually on their property. One neighbor called the sheriff, who arrived on scene, and although removal of one of the neighbors fences was then stopped, the vacant lot owner proceeded to remove a fence from a home where the owners were not present. The incident was reported to the city. At least one of the homeowners is planning to have an independent land survey done. It may be prudent for homeowners whose property borders on the vacant lot to have their lot lines surveyed to make sure that the vacant lot owner does not encroach on their property.
If you see activity like this on the property, be aware that such activities often require permits from the city. Please either report the activity to the city, or text me at 310.977.7027 and I can report it.
Organizing efforts
Several neighbors on Silver Spur will be putting together a flyer to distribute to neighbors around the area to make sure that everyone is informed. Please let your neighbors know about this, and invite them to join our email distribution list.
Permits/applications
As of this Monday, the planning department reports there are no new applications or permits for the property.
